On Board

Today our international wire transfer finally went through, and as of 11am today we are officially onboard.

We did a major supermarket shop, buying heaps of cans and long-life milk in bulk.  We went first to the bulk buy supermarket, but their prices weren’t always cheaper, and who really wants six 10kilo bags of rice anyway.  Gary was very excited about these purchases...

Plod’s tire is not coping with the heavy loads of shopping.  We have had to fill the tire with air twice today, and then as further punishment we got a nail in another tire!

We took this picture for you to get a “vibe” of Tortola.  Here are the wild sheep, sheltering under a speed boat in the heat of the day.

I also tried to purchase some e-books for the iPad today.  The Amazon site was the US one and showed heaps of awesome books.  But when I went to purchase one with my NZ billing address it said it wasn’t available in NZ.  So I put the marina address in instead, well the one we will be staying at in the US virgins...and was able to buy it!  But unfortunately, I’ve just got a very angry email from Amazon asking whether I would like to admit to being resident in the US without a green card....WHOOPS

Anywho...we are now all packed and ready to head off.  We hope tomorrow we can pick up our new dinghy and outboard.  We will also be giving back Plod, which feels much more like good riddance than tearful goodbye.

Looking forward to being lazy on deck in the sun, not reading my illegal kindle purchase.
